Olivia & Danny’s wedding passage celebrated new life and the beauty of depth. As we reflected on their relationship, I loved how these two wanted to not only recognize the ease and joy in their relationship, they also wanted to recognize the richness that has come from the trials and challenges that have brought them closer.

The readings that they chose, the promises that they worded thoughtfully for their vows and the stories that I got to tell - all of it was an opportunity to reflect on the fact that committed relationships are vehicles for growth.

We also got to bless their newborn baby Izabella during the ceremony! There is something about the presence of a newborn in a wedding ceremony that fills the whole experience with the vitality of life.

Let’s Get It Started

Moss Denver is a super cool warehouse space in the heart of Denver. It’s always an amazing spot for a wedding and gorgeous photos.

We started our processional with Danny and his mom, then our Best Man and Maid of Honor, then Olivia with her brother.

Ceremony Highlights

We did a reading that had deeply impacted Danny in its acknowledgement that out of life’s challenges come transformation. Both Olivia and Danny had grown through intense times in their individual lives and this is one of the things that has allowed them to connect so profoundly as a couple.

I got to talk about these two and the beauty of their shared traits plus big differences, and how it all is an opportunity for learning, growth and deepening relationship.

Vows were repeat-after-me and were adapted by Olivia & Danny from some example vows that I shared with them. They promised to be partners in parenthood, allies in conflict, comrades in adventure, accomplices in mischief, equals in all things and each other’s greatest fan. Beautiful!

We did a ring exchange with rings blessed by each and every guest as they were passed from person-to-person during the ceremony.

And a blessing for Izabella! The joy of a baby blessing in a wedding ceremony is that we are not only welcoming the couple into marriage, we are welcoming this new life into the world!
